La Mer Course
La Mer is Golf du Touquet’s crowning glory,
and has frequently hosted prestigious
professional tournaments, including the
French Open numerous times. Opened in
1931,
the course is distinctly reminiscent
of a Scottish links, thanks to designer
Harry Colt. Measuring 6,862 yards, La Mer
overlooks the wild dunes and the Channel
coastline, and is without doubt one of
France’s most prestigious destinations.
La Foret Course
La Foret is the oldest course having been
inaugurated in 1904. In stark contrast to
its rugged sister course, La Foret is carved
through stunning pine woodland with
some beautiful holes. At 6,365 yards, La
Foret is not particularly long, but Horace
Hutchinson’s creation demands accuracy
from the tee.
Le Manoir Course
The third course is Le Manoir, and although
it is only nine holes, it is no pitch and putt.
The track demands every weapon in the ar-
senal, and is perfect not only for beginners,
but also the more seasoned golfer.
Accommodation
The 4* Mercure Grand Hotel is undoubt-
edly in the upper echelons of Le Touquet
residences, offering luxury accommodation
in the Côte d’Opale resort town. Unlike
many of the traditional Le Touquet hotels,
the Mercure Grand is a modern construc-
tion, designed and decorated in an edgy,
contemporary style. There are 132 spacious
bedrooms in total, all of which are well ap-
pointed, and are sure to provide a comfort-
able, relaxing stay during your golf break.

Les Pins Course
As its name suggests, Les Pins is carved
through Hardelot’s magnificent pine forest.
Originally presided over by the Duke of Ar-
gyll, the course really came to the fore with
Tom Simpson’s 1931 redesign. The host of
many prestigious national and
international professional events, Les Pins
is a subtle course that demands accuracy
and sound strategy above all else.
Measuring 6,480 yards, the course is not
long, but the greens are tricky and a tight
short game is needed.
Les Dunes course
Les Dunes is Hardelot’s second course, but
since its inception in 1990 has been a
welcome addition to the region’s rich
golfing portfolio. Designed by Belgian
architect Paul Rollin, Les Dunes typifies the
Côte d’Opale landscape, set amid the
delightful dunes, lakes and mature wood-
land. The 6,258 yard layout is distinctly
different in character to its illustrious
neighbour, but this diversity makes
Hardelot all the more attractive.
Accommodation
The Hotel du Parc is the most popular
hostelry with visiting golfers in Hardelot,
where comfortable surroundings and
outstanding service ensure your stay will be
enjoyable. The hotel’s tranquil surround-
ings are a luscious park and mature
woodland, while inside you will find 81
excellent bedrooms and 25 self-catered
apartments. With a distinctly British feel,
the rooms are equipped with mini-bar,
satellite television and internet access and
are decorated and furnished to a superb
standard.

A fixture on the European Tour, the golf course
at St-Omer is set on the banks of the River Aa. Its
stunning parkland setting charms visitors year
after year, while its undulations and hazards
provide a stern test. The 18-hole Le Val is joined
